Rostered Select

408955 230038780423277 1948000103 nThe goal of the Player Development (PD) Program is to provide additional opportunities for house league players to develop their skating and hockey skills. All players registered in the C.A.L. house league program are eligible to participate in the PD Program from Novice to Midget, in the division that their birth year permits

All PD coaches must commit to NCCP Development 1 or Hockey Canada Intermediate Level II certification within the current season.

Player selection will take place once players are registered for house league teams. The player must attend aminimum of three (3) of the four (4) on-ice evaluations. Players may miss no more than one (1) on-ice evaluation session.  Players must be on the ice for an evaluation of their abilities to take place.  In the case of extenuating circumstances, exceptions may be made by the PD Convenor on a case-by-case basis.

Players may register prior to the beginning of the sessions or during the first session. If vacancies on any team exist, registrations received after this deadline must be approved by the PD Convenor.

409208 180564365382352 1761416259 nEach Panthers team usually rosters 19 players to provide maximum opportunity for access to the PD program. The number of players selected for each team will be determined by the PD coach and PD Convenor at the given level.

Players who are not selected to participate in the PD program will be provided with an opportunity for a post-evaluation interview with one of the division PD coaches.

Games, Practices and Tournaments

Each PD team may play a maximum of three (3) exhibition games per month, and each team plays in three (3) tournaments during the season as permitted by OMHA regulation 4.4.h. Each PD team has two (2) ice times per week, for their practices and games.

Player's Responsibilities

PD team members' first responsibility is to the regularly-scheduled games, practices and tournaments of their house league teams, except for those PD tournaments designated by the PD program.

In situations where there is a conflict between a house league and a PD game, PD team members must attend their house league games.

Failure to attend house league games and/or practices due to participation in a PD event, without prior approval from the house league coach in consultation with the PD Convenor, may result in disciplinary action by the Discipline Committee.
